In 1977: Russell McKee was editor, Charles Schafer was art director, Gijsbert Van Frankenhuyzen was assistant art editor(Schaefer retired in 1977 and as of the Sept-Oct Issue Van Frankenhuyzen was art editor), Norris McDowell was managing editor, Richard Morscheck was assistant editor, Donna Burt was circulation manager, Glenna Seagall (later Green) was research & production, and Bernadette Miller editorial assistant, with additional illustrations by Ozz Warbach.
1977 was significant in the magazine's history as it was the last of the "overlap" years when the magazine contained the beautiful paintings of both Charles Schaefer and Gijsbert Van Frankenhuyzen together. It was also the year when long-time contributor R.D. Burroughs' last essay "The End of the Car Line" was reprinted as "The Bookend", in the March-April issue, in his honor following his death in October 1976.
The magazine cost $5.00 per year for a subscription, and was printed by the Safran Printing Company in Detroit.
